What kinds of support will be available for my child?
We have trained Learning Support Assistants who are able to work in small group, whole class and one to one situations.
Any planned support is timetabled by the class teacher with support from Mrs Brotherhood our SENDCO and this is communicated to parents by the school.
The school offers a wide variety of pastoral support for pupils who are encountering emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
Members of staff such as the class teacher, Learning Support Assistants, SENCO and Wellbeing mentor are readily available for pupils who wish to discuss issues and concerns.
The Wellbeing Mentor runs wellbeing groups targeting social skills, self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and anger management. She also offers one to one support for pupils.
Pupils with medical needs:
If a pupil has a medical need then a detailed Health Care Plan is compiled by School in consultation with parents/carers and appropriate medical professionals. These are discussed with all staff involved with the pupil.
Where necessary and in agreement with parents/carers medicines are administered in school where a signed Health Care plan is in place.
