National Road Safety Week
Chetwynd took part in National Road Safety Week organised by BRAKE; a charity who help raise awareness of road safety to reduce crashes and reduce harm when a crash occurs. Children became Road Safety Heroes and understood the importance of:
- School crossing patrols and how this keeps everyone safe
- Wearing helmets when cycling or scooting
- Speed limits, what they are and why they are different in different areas
- Not using a mobile phone whilst driving and how this can be a distraction
- Finding safe places to walk, ride and play, away from fast-flowing traffic.
Through this initiative, we endeavour to ensure our pupils are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills required to stay safe on the streets.
