Safer Internet Day 2024

Wow! Our Digital Leaders did us so proud today for our Safer Internet Day 2024 Assembly.

We are so proud of their dedication to practise and think they performed it beautifully!

They did a great job telling the whole school that technology changes often can be a great thing, but sometimes if the change doesn't feel right, we know we go to our trusted adults for advice.

Great job everyone!

Anti Bullying Week 2023

What a fantastic day we had yesterday! 6 of our amazing Digital Leaders bravely went to Whitestone to do a Cyber Bullying Assembly as part of Anti Bullying Week 2023.

The group worked really hard rehearsing over the last few weeks. They told the younger children how we should always follow CAT's rules -

C = Check

A= Ask

T= Tell

Fifa 23 advice - By Freddie

Pegi 3

Age inappropriate chat

In game promotions

Circling scammers

Addictive nature

Gambling adjacent behaviour

Be selective about chats

Stay alert for scams

Control spending

Avoid spending a lot of time playing it because of addictive behaviour

It is good for all ages but you have got to be careful about the chats from people’s behaviour from the chats

You have also got to be careful about the in game promotions because your child might spend money on the game without you knowing

Addictive nature. Your child might spend to long playing the game than you think so you need to monitor how long your child is playing for.

Be selective about your kid with chats and on settings there is something that says ‘disable chats ‘

Stay alert from SCAMS because you might just run into one and they would hack into your console and buy stuff like coins.

STAY ALERT

Online Bullying - By Sahana

How To Combat Online Bullying!

1. Get Connected

Playing online games together with your child or connecting with them on social media (providing they’re old enough) is not only fun but also an amazing way of making some normal place to talk about things you have both seen or done online.

2. Tell

Tell someone if someone is bullying you so that an adult can sort it out. Never ever, ever keep it secret that someone is online bullying you. Always tell an adult because they can make them stop and make you feel better. Always repot and block someone if they are bullying you.

3. Age ratings

Always follow the age ratings because there are age ratings for a reason. They keep you safe. Never play a game with an age rating older than you are because it might scare you.
