Complaints Procedure

 

Step 1

Informal Procedure

 

1) Make the Class Teacher aware of your complaint.

2) Make a School Leadership Team member of your complaint.

3) Make the Headteacher aware of your complaint.

It is hoped that by working in partnership with families that issues and concerns can be resolved at this level.

School has the philosophy that:

“School should be seen as an extension of the family”.

 

Step 2

Formal Procedure

 

Should a parent/carer be unhappy with the way that the school has attempted to resolve the issue then a formal complaint may be made to the Governing Body through the Chair of Governors.

In such circumstances, please write to the Chair of Governors or Clerk to the Governing Body, Chetwynd Junior School.  The envelope should be marked ‘For Immediate Attention’ ‘Private and Confidential’.

1) The Chair of Governors will then endeavour to resolve the issue for you or;

2) Offer mediation.

 

Step 3

Formal Procedure

 

Should a parent/carer still be unhappy with the way that the school has attempted to resolve the issue then a request may be made for a Formal Governor Panel Hearing.

We hope that all attempts to resolve the issue will have already been made before this third and final stage of the schools complaint procedure.
